Ainsley's Flower Girl Dress

My brother Nick will be getting married in two months, and Ainsley recently chose her flower girl dress for the wedding. She was exceptionally pleased with herself, twirling and admiring in front of the mirror as she tried on dresses, but when it came time to take her picture in the dress, her ability to cooperate wore off. She screamed and threw tantrums, and eventually, we convinced her to let us take her picture by talking Emma into being in the picture, too.

Ainsley and Emma

Ainsley's new hobby is playing with her friend Emma. They love to exchange dress-ups, baby dolls, fruit snacks, secrets and the occasional "you're not my friend anymore!". Yesterday Ainsley and Emma posed for multiple pictures at the dinosaur park in Ogden.

Liam the Graduate

Last night Liam graduated from Busy Bear Preschool. Though he remembered his part of the program, he made the class and the audience giggle with his microphone antics. Today, he is proudly sporting his graduation cap and informs us that he graduated, so he should not be expected to make his bed or pick up his toys anymore.

Ainsley's signature look

This is our Ainsley, with her sunglasses on upside down. We can not convince her that they belong the other way around. I'm beginning to think the upside down glasses symbolize her personality. No one can convince her of anything!

Superman!

Liam Davies, age 5, spends his spare time leaping small buildings in a single bound.

The Davies Family Players Presents...

Peter Pan made it's debut on the Davies family stage last Saturday night. Liam, who played Peter made the following comment "It's a creative show. We put on the costumes, grab some swords, and pretty much make it up as we go along." Ainsley, as Tinkerbelle, told reporters that she really wanted to be Wendy, but cousin Taylie won the role instead, because of her long hair. Ainsley cut her own hair in defiance of this arbitrary type casting. (Note the missing chunk of her bangs. She did the job more thoroughly later on, and now she no longer has any bangs at all.) Cousin Kade, as Captain Hook made the audience giggle with his physical humor. All in all it was an admirable performance.

Liam Turns Five

Liam turned five on April 26th! We celebrated with a group of thirteen sugar high preschoolers running through the backyard. They ate black and blue frosted cupcakes, attacked the pinata with a golf club, and made an indecent amount of noise. Liam loved every minute of it. Next year, though, we have decided to hold his party somewhere else.
